Tattoo before, during, and after care!

Tattoo before, during, and after care! —

  • Wear comfy clothes! Getting tattooed takes time, wearing comfortable, loose clothing makes it better!

  • Don’t forget a form of Identification! It’s needed for new tattoos, touchups, and anything in between.

  • Come 15 minutes early, if you can. It helps with set up time and a chance for me to make any changes to your art!

  • Cash is always preferred, but Venmo, Zelle, and Apple Cash is available

  • Please don’t come under the influence. It hurts more for you and can actually hurt the tattoo in the healing phase!

After-care

  • avoid prolonged sunlight, swimming, itching, picking, and scrubbing the area for the first 2 weeks of getting tattooed

  • Avoid tight clothing AT LEAST until scabbing is done, it’s a process but it’s so important to let it breathe so it does not become inflamed or infected

  • Saniderm- should be left on untouched for 3-5 days, if it naturally comes off before that, it’s OK! To take off, slowly peel from the lowest point of the saniderm and try to peel out, not up. Wash with unscented soap and water. Pat dry with paper towel (bath towels still have bacteria even after cleaned, paper towel eliminates chances of infection) and a thin layer of unscented lotion (I use a very small amount of aquaphor, some people prefer name brand antibacterial lotion, choose what you know your skin loves!). Repeat cleaning steps 2x a day (more frequent if the area is touched a lot throughout the day) for 1 to 2 weeks after removing saniderm!

  • Plastic wrap- same cleaning regime as above, but the plastic wrap is very temporary and should be taken off after a few hours to overnight. The tattoo will be more fresh with the plastic wrap since it won’t be on as long as saniderm, so take extra time and care around the area!
